Hurricane Sandy has affected many, many New Yorkers. Staten Island and Long Island have been devastated, and Manhattan is just now getting itself back in order. The Pod Awful podcast (based in Brooklyn, NY) will be doing a “New York Marathon” in order to raise funds for the Red Cross’ disaster relief efforts. Host Jesse P-S and NYC comedian cohosts will be on air for 12+ hours starting November 17th at 5pm, and trying to bring in the charity Jerry Lewis style. (No singing though[No promises].)
Contributing comedians include: Myq Kaplan (Last Comic Standing, Hang Out With Me podcast), Jackie Kashian (Comedy Central Presents, Dork Forest podcast), Josh Gondelman (Attack of the Show, Laughing Skull Comedy Festival), RG Daniels (MTV’s Guycode Blog), Adam Hiniker (EARCANDY), Andy Beckerman (Beginnings Podcast, Wrestling Team), Boris Khaykin (Collegehumor, North Coast), Mark Thomas (Impractical Jokers), Iliana Inocencio (The PITcast), Marshall Stratton (LandlineTV, UCBcomedy), Zak Deickman (Chained Garden)
ATTENTION NEW YORK COMEDIANS:
I am producing a telethon for Hurricane Sandy Relief through the Red Cross. My Show, Pod Awful will be streaming live starting November 17th, 5pm EST and going on for at least 12 hours. We need comedians who can come on and cohost throughout, and try to spread the word for donations.
Already joining us are Myq Kaplan, Josh Gondelman, Mark Thomas, Boris Khaykin, RG Daniels and more. Jackie Kashian has been nice enough to provide some signed albums as donation prizes.
Anything you can do, cohost, provide incentives (albums, tickets, anything!), spread the word on Twitter and Facebook, ANYTHING can help! Our goal is just $1300, but if we make over that I’ll be forced to go over 12 hours of constant live streaming. It should be fun, nuts, and for a good cause.
(Also, I will be instituting an “open door policy” where any comedian can show up at any time DURING the show, if they can get my address.)
Contact me to get in on all this charity.
